Return Policy:

Our Orchid Replacement & Shipping Policy

At O'Dowds Orchids, we take great care in selecting, preparing, and packing every orchid we send. Our plants are living things, and we want each one to arrive safely and have the best possible start in your care.

Because orchids are living plants, we do not accept routine returns. Returning a live orchid can place it under additional stress, and improper repacking or changing temperatures during the return journey can cause serious damage or even loss of the plant.

If there is a problem with your orchid when it arrives, please contact us as soon as possible within one to two days of receiving. We want to help.

If There Is a Problem With Your Orchid

This allows us to see the plant's condition when it arrived and help determine what may be happening. Orchids can respond quickly to changes in temperature, light, watering, and handling, so waiting several days before contacting us can make it difficult to determine whether a problem occurred during shipping or afterward.

We cannot offer replacements for problems reported more than three days after delivery.

However, we understand that every orchid and every situation is different. At O'Dowds Orchids, we may consider individual circumstances and, when appropriate, work with you to find the best solution.

Shipping & Temperature Damage

We take great care when packing your orchid, but once your package leaves O'Dowds Orchids, we cannot control how it is handled by the shipping carrier.

If your package arrives visibly damaged, please document the damage and contact the carrier regarding a shipping claim.

Extreme temperatures can also be dangerous for orchids. December through March is considered our winter shipping season, but unusually cold or hot weather can affect orchids at other times of the year as well.

Please use the tracking number we provide to watch for your delivery and make arrangements to bring your orchid inside as soon as possible.

During periods of extreme cold or heat, even a short time outdoors can seriously damage an orchid.

We send your tracking information the same day your orchid ships so you have an opportunity to prepare for its arrival.

If you won't be home, consider having your orchid delivered to your workplace, a family member, trusted friend, or neighbor. UPS and USPS may also offer options to hold or redirect a package before it is out for delivery.

Blooming Orchids

If you receive an orchid that is blooming, please allow it to settle into its new environment before considering repotting.

We strongly recommend that you do not disturb the roots of a blooming orchid. Repotting can place considerable stress on a plant and may cause it to lose its flowers or decline.

We cannot replace an orchid for damage resulting from repotting while it is blooming.

If you are unsure what your orchid needs, please ask us before making changes. We are always happy to help.

A Final Note From Us

We know that ordering a living orchid is different from ordering an ordinary product. Your orchid has traveled a long way to reach you, and we want you to be happy with it.

We take great care of your orchid before it leaves us. We simply ask that you give it the same care when it arrives.

Thank you for choosing O'Dowds Orchids.
We appreciate your business, and we want you to enjoy your orchid for many years to come. 🌿
